Summary
Ms. Sandrine Josso questions the Minister of State, Minister of Ecological and Inclusive Transition, on the Government's action in the fight against global warming. Indeed, four associations (The Foundation for Nature and Man, Greenpeace France, Our Business to All and Oxfam France) announced, in December 2018, that they planned to take legal action against the State for “inaction in the face of change climate”, after having sent a prior request to the Government. In one month, the petition accompanying this appeal reached more than two million signatures. The ratification of the Paris agreements requires, however, to fight against global warming, and in particular against the emission of greenhouse gases, in order to contain, by 2100, global warming below 2%. However, a report published in 2018 by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) showed that current environmental policies were insufficient to limit global warming to an increase of 1.5 degrees. She therefore questions him about the actions envisaged in the fight against global warming and the reduction of greenhouse gases. In particular, she questions him about the concrete positions of the State and his ministry aimed at respecting France's international commitments as well as protecting the French population from the risks induced by climate change.
