Summary
Ms. Marie-Agnès Poussier-Winsback draws the attention of the Minister of Health, Families, Autonomy and Disabled People to the shortage experienced by medical gynecology in France. According to data from the Demographic Atlas of the National Council of the Order of Physicians (CNOM), there were 1,945 practitioners in practice in 2007, compared to only 867 in 2025 to monitor 34 million women. This 55.5% decrease caused the density to drop medical at an alarming level of two practitioners per 100,000 women as of January 1, 2025. This overall lack of practitioners creates a significant territorial divide as well as a serious regression for women's health. This translates into delays in diagnosis, interruptions in follow-up after cancer or massive abandonment of care. In addition, the medical specialty is still suffering the consequences of its total interruption during seventeen years old. However, recent arbitrations seem to rule out the desire for historical catch-up, which until then, prevailed. The number of positions open to interns is thus decreasing, counting 79 in 2024 and 80 in 2025, compared to 91 in 2023. This seemingly abandonment of the sanctuarization of the sector gives rise to serious concern. Faced with this observation, which slows down access to specialized local care for half of the French population, she asks what concrete measures the Government intends to take to initiate the necessary reconstruction of the sector.
