Summary

Ms. Caroline Abadie draws the attention of the Minister of Higher Education, Research and Innovation to the methodology used by the CROUS services in calculating the student grant. Access to higher education is guaranteed to all by the State, without distinction of income and social origin. Thus, in order to promote social advancement and remove the financial barrier, various aids have been put in place. For that this support is as close as possible to the material and financial situation of the student, the eligible amount is calculated according to the distance between the family home and the place of study, the brothers and sisters, including those currently in the higher cycle, and the reference tax income of the household. The latter, when the parents are divorced, is based on the reference income of the person responsible for the child. The calculation only takes into account pensions received by the responsible person. However, with the fragmentation and sometimes multiple recomposition of French families, certain people find themselves in the situation of paying to a third party and at the same time receiving a pension from a second third party, without this being taken into account. It draws its attention to the need to review the consideration in the calculation of the scholarship of pensions, so that study assistance is always as close as possible to each person's personal situation.
