Summary
Mrs. Mathilde Desjonquères draws the attention of the Minister of Health and Prevention to the recovery and use of rainwater in health establishments. While water resources are increasingly scarce and episodes of drought are increasing, the use of rainwater for certain uses makes it possible to reduce drinking water consumption. Among the major consumers of water are establishments healthcare, medico-social establishments and accommodation establishments for the elderly. Thus, 25% of hospital beds represent almost a million cubic meters of water per year, for the simple use of flushing toilets. The decree of August 21, 2008 relating to the recovery of rainwater and its use inside and outside buildings, prohibits the use of rainwater inside these establishments. Authorizing these structures to use rainwater to supply said toilets would lead to significant savings in drinking water. Also, she asks him if the Government intends to relax the provisions in force in order to contribute to better management of drinking water.
