The latter had different brands of kibble analyzed in order to know the exact components. The overall results of these analyzes reveal frequent discrepancies between the information provided by kibble manufacturers and that provided to consumers concerning the actual composition of these products. This study thus supports the investigation carried out in 2016 by the Directorate General for Competition, Consumer Affairs and Fraud Prevention which noted a high number of presentation anomalies or erroneous allegations. Another conclusion from these analyzes attests to high rates of carbohydrates and additives BHA (E320) and BHT (E321) in the composition of kibbles likely to be the cause of the increase in pathologies noted by veterinarians. In view of these elements which are particularly worrying for the health of these animals and the French households which own them, she asks what measures could be taken to strengthen the transparency of information relating to the composition of the kibbles and the fight against the harmfulness of some of them.
