Summary
Mrs. Barbara Pompili draws the attention of the Minister of National Education to the teaching of the Picardy language. If several texts have been adopted to ensure the promotion, preservation and teaching of regional languages, Picard struggles to find its rightful place in these texts. Picardy is, however, a well-established language, beyond the administrative borders of the former Picardy, and is based on a practice and a heritage important. Although it is studied at university, this language remains absent from national education, apart from occasional interventions by certain structures. More particularly, Picard is not mentioned in circular 2001-166 of September 5, 2001 among the regional languages likely to be concerned by the establishment of teaching. She therefore questions him about the means of remedying this observation and ensuring the transmission of the Picardy language, cultural heritage, from school.
