Summary

The social movements at the end of 2018 and 2019 took the form of periodic demonstrations in several urban areas across the country, some of which were accompanied by repeated material damage. As such, they have severely penalized businesses in several cities. In this context, the State supported impacted economic actors to help them deal with immediate and urgent difficulties: staggering of tax and social charges, partial activity scheme, granting or maintaining bank credits, banking mediation, etc. The State also co-financed animation, attractiveness and commercial communications projects, presented by local authorities in association with local economic players, with the aim of boosting commercial traffic in city centers affected by the social movements.
