Summary

Substantial developments in oral care are coming with the reform of out-of-pocket costs announced by the President of the Republic. To implement this presidential commitment and offer all French people access to a basket of prosthetic dental care without out-of-pocket costs, consultation with the health professionals concerned was necessary. The framework within which this work is carried out is well that of conventional negotiations. Also, to allow discussions to take place in a peaceful climate, it was decided to postpone until January 1, 2019 the entry into force of the capping and revaluation measures, initially scheduled for January 1, 2018 in application of the arbitration rules published on April 1, 2017. It is with this in mind that, on September 15, 2017, the conventional partners resumed negotiations with a view to leading to the signing of a new agreement. Important work involving health insurance, trade union organizations representing dental surgeons and complementary organizations is therefore underway and is moving in the desired direction of development of the oral care system.
