Summary
Mr. Fabrice Le Vigoureux draws the attention of the Minister of Solidarity and Health to the conditions of remuneration of midwives. Recognized as part of the medical professions, the status of midwife currently only offers remuneration which is more similar to that of medical auxiliary professionals. Although having allowed a salary increase of 183 euros per month for midwives, the Ségur de la santé has not not open the debate on the very recognition of this status of medical profession and its translation in terms of salary. The medical competence and the responsibilities that these professionals bear on a daily basis in the exercise of their profession nevertheless correspond well to the classification of this profession among the medical professions. As of January 1, 2020, there were 23,174 professionals who would therefore be affected by this situation. Beyond Ségur de la santé, he would like to know the Government's position regarding the statutory remuneration of these professionals, whose presence and commitment are essential for obstetric services to continue to operate.
