Summary
Mr. Jean-Pierre Door draws the attention of the Minister of Solidarity and Health to the duration of delivery of contraceptive medications. The placing on the market of large packages of medications has become essential for chronic treatments, as well as for contraceptive medications, in order to allow the pharmacist to deliver the most economical packaging compatible with the information appearing on the prescription. If the Quarterly packaging appeared to be the most economical form, making it possible to avoid the additional cost of unused platelets when the patient stops her contraception, at a period when the cost of dispensing did not exceed 35% of the manufacturer's price excluding tax. Such packaging is no longer justified today for these treatments and no longer makes it possible to achieve this objective. Additionally, oral contraceptive medications benefit from a prescription regime whose execution is renewable for a period of one year and whose dispensation period has been extended to an additional 6 months. This duration applies to all contraceptive medications with the exception of those appearing on a list established by an order of the Minister responsible for health. This system, which aims to facilitate access to contraception and prevention of abortion, however, remains incomplete in that the execution of the prescription in maximum periods of three months considerably limits access to contraception for certain women, in particular the most socially fragile or the most territorially distant from a medical office and a pharmaceutical pharmacy, beyond the material constraint and the burden generated by this quarterly period. The periods of confinement as part of the covid-19 epidemic have accentuated for all women this lack of autonomy resulting from the packaging of platelets in too limited a number. He asks him if he plans to modify the limit on the duration of delivery of contraceptives currently set at 3 months in order to extend it to 6 months with a view to allowing the marketing and use of half-yearly packages.
