Summary

Mrs. Florence Provendier draws the attention of the Minister of Solidarity and Health to the integration of all professionals who work in contact with patients, in the vaccination priorities of phase 3 of the recommendations of the High Authority for Health (HAS). In November 2020, the HAS refined its recommendations on prioritizing populations to be vaccinated against covid-19 developed in July 2020. Five phases were thus defined, including the third which concerns the vaccination of all professionals in the health and medico-social sector and that of professionals from sectors essential to the functioning of the country. As such, they are an essential cog in the continuity of care and contribute in times of crisis to maintaining a essential operating capacity of the system. They are full-fledged healthcare operators who sometimes find themselves in contact with patients in operating theaters, among other places. Likewise, professionals in the cleaning sector in hospitals or paramedical settings have been able, since the start of the crisis, to continue to adapt and innovate in the context of the crisis that the country is going through. Greatly forgotten thanks and recognition, these professionals are “2nd line workers” who work in the service of the general interest and who are essential to welcoming patients in healthy conditions. Also, in light of one of the two prioritization criteria which were retained to define the vaccination strategy: the risk of exposure to the virus, it questions the possibility of adding these professionals to the list of people who will benefit from vaccines in phase 3.
