Summary
In order to promote social diversity, particularly in neighborhoods in difficulty, article L. 441-3 of the construction and housing code provides that the solidarity rent supplement (SLS) does not apply in neighborhoods classified as priority neighborhoods of city policy. When it applies, the solidarity rent supplement depends on the tenant's resources. However, pursuant to article L. 441-4 of same code, its amount is capped when, combined with the amount of the main rent, it exceeds 30% of the household's resources. This represents a rate of effort a priori bearable by a tenant who decides to stay in the accommodation, whatever their age. This cap allows in any case to adapt the amount of the SLS to the resources of the household occupying the accommodation, the Government does not plan to modify the legislation in force.
