Summary

Since October 2017 and the Harvey Weinstein affair we have witnessed a massive revelation of sexual harassment and sexism in different professional sectors. This resurgence of cases highlights several points which the government is taking action on in order to adapt public policy in favor of victims of sexual harassment in the long term. Concerning the financing of this association, it is taken care of in a manner constant by the ministry responsible for women's rights: its multi-annual agreement of 3-year objectives was also renewed in 2017 with €235,000/year. We are working on a national training plan for relay professionals in the regions, in particular open to lawyers, representatives of unions, CHSCTs, HR services of employers, professional branches, representatives of the defender of Rights and of course to the inspection and control bodies of the Ministry of Labor. All of these professionals have a fundamental role to play in terms of preventing and handling cases of sexual harassment at work. Only a systemic, transversal and interministerial approach will be able to overcome sexual harassment at work, involving partners and victims themselves who must better know their rights and the defend. This implies that they are informed and that the services responsible for human resources, unions, labor inspection and managers are trained. A major campaign will be launched in 2018 which will complement the measures announced by the President of the Republic on November 25 and the tools of the Directorates of Social Cohesion, the Mission for the Protection of Women Victims of Violence (MIPROF), the Council superior of professional equality, the Defender of Rights and partners.
