Summary
Poor hearing is not without consequences on one's social, family and professional life, with ultimately a major risk: that of becoming isolated. The price of hearing aids is often cited as the primary cause of non-fitting. The 100% Health reform aims to enable all hearing-impaired people, with a responsible complementary health insurance contract or beneficiaries of solidarity complementary health insurance, to equip themselves hearing aids and thus meet the needs of the population. Since January 1, 2020, after a first step in 2019 which made it possible to reduce the remaining cost per hearing aid by €200 on average, an additional reduction of €250 in the remaining cost (per ear) on “100% Health” devices has been applied. Furthermore, since January 1, 2020, all hearing care professionals must establish and offer a quote standardized including at least a 100% Health offer for each fitted ear. This additional step concretizes the Government's commitment to providing all citizens with access to quality care.
