Deuxième étape d'un cycle triennal organisé en partenariat avec l'Agence française pour la biodiversité (AFB), le colloque qui s'est tenu au Sénat le 6 juin 2019, un an après l'exploration du vaste Pacifique, a permis de mettre à l'honneur les richesses naturelles des territoires français du bassin Atlantique (la Guadeloupe, la Guyane, la Martinique, Saint-Barthélemy, Saint-Martin et Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon), dans un contexte marqué par l'état des lieux de la Plateforme intergouvernementale sur la biodiversité et les services écosystémiques (IPBES) alertant sur la disparition accélérée de la flore et de la faune de la planète.
