Summary
Inter-American Scientific Cooperation Act of 1989 - Requires the National Science Foundation to establish the Inter-American Scientific Cooperation Program to increase the level of science and technology cooperation between the United States and Latin America. Requires the Program to identify and cooperate with private and governmental funding bodies, both in Latin America and in the United States, which will bear a share of the financing of cooperative projects. Sets forth required Program elements, including establishment of an Inter-American Scientific Educational Development Fund. Sets forth required Fund activities, including graduate and post-doctoral fellowships in science and technology. Authorizes appropriations for FY 1990 and 1991.
