A bill to suspend United States assistance for the Nicaraguan democratic resistance until the Congress has completed its investigations into the shipments of arms to Iran and the possible illegal use of United States Government funds for assistance for the Nicaraguan democratic resistance, and to require a reduction in the amount of authorized assistance equal to the amount of any assistance illegally provided.

Summary

Requires the President to withhold U.S. assistance for the Nicaraguan democratic resistance until the Congress has completed its investigation into the arms shipments to Iran and the possible illegal use of U.S. funds for aid for the Nicaraguan democratic resistance. Provides that the Congress shall signal completion of its investigation by enactment of a joint resolution declaring that it has completed those investigations. Reduces the amount of aid to the Nicaraguan resistance by the amount, if any, that the Congress determines to have been used illegally.
