Summary
Biotechnology Science Coordination and Competitiveness Act of 1988 - Establishes the National Biotechnology Policy Commission to evaluate Government, as well as non-confidential privately funded, biotechnology activities, including both basic and applied research and the development of related commercial industries and products. Directs the Commission, beginning in 1990, to submit to the President and to the Committee on Science, Space, and Technology of the House of Representatives biannual reports containing recommendations in connection with specified biotechnology-related topics. Mandates that these reports be published and made available to the public.
