Summary

Commends the Administration for its leadership in forgiving $698 million of debt owed by Jordan to the United States. Urges the President and the Secretary of State to take appropriate diplomatic and other measures to support and assist the Jordanian economy, including advocating that member countries of the G-7 and other countries forgive Jordanian debt. Requests that the Secretary report to the House Committee on International Relations regarding efforts to strengthen the Jordanian economy and to secure the forgiveness of Jordanian debt. Directs the Clerk of the House to send a copy of this resolution to the Secretary with the request that it be forwarded to countries which are holders of Jordanian debt.
