Summary

Condemns the July 2004 murder of American journalist Paul Klebnikov in Moscow and the murders of other members of the media in the Russian Federation. Urges the government of Russia to: (1) continue its inquiries into Mr. Klebnikov's murder; and (2) take appropriate action to protect the independence and freedom of the Russian media and all visiting members of the media. Commends journalists working and living in Russia for their dedication to transparency and the truth.
