Summary

Leping parandab investeerimiskliimat EL-i liikmesriikide ja Singapuri vahel. Seletuskirjas märgitakse, et lepingust on kasu Eesti investoritele, sest see tagab investeeringute kaitse ja aitab lahendada vaidlusi. Lepinguga luuakse kaheastmeline investeerimiskohtu süsteem, mille eesmärgiks on tagada investoritele parem õiguskaitse ning menetleda nende vaidlusi kiiremini ja läbipaistvalt. Samuti tagab leping ka Singapuri investorite kaitse Eestis. Lepingu eelnõu kiideti heaks valitsuse 4. oktoobri 2018 istungil. Eesti kirjutas lepingule alla 15. oktoobril 2018 Luksemburgis. EL ja Singapur kirjutasid lepingule alla 19. oktoobril 2018 Aasia-Euroopa tippkohtumisel Brüsselis. Leping jõustub pärast seda, kui kõik riigid on lepingu riigisiseste menetluste kohaselt ratifitseerinud.
