Summary

With the bill, international labor standards are adopted into Estonian law, which improve the working and living conditions of crew members and fishermen and strengthen maritime safety. The bill also helps to resolve two infringement procedures initiated by the European Commission. The 2022 amendments to the ILO Maritime Labor Convention and two EU directives concerning the working conditions of crew and fishing vessels will be adopted. A number of government and ministerial regulations will also be amended so that ensure compliance with international requirements.
