Summary
Eelnõu võimaldab panustada 2024. aastal kuni kolme kaitseväelasega Euroopa Liidu väljaõppemissioonile EUTM Mozambique. Euroopa Liidu Nõukogu moodustas 12. juuli 2021 otsusega 2021/1143/ÜVJP väljaõppemissiooni EUTM Mozambique (European Union Training Mission in Mosambique) Mosambiigis. EUTM Mozambique’is osalemine on Eestile oluline nii välis- kui kaitsepoliitiliselt. Eesti üks prioriteetidest on osaleda Euroopa Liidu ühise julgeoleku- ja kaitsepoliitika elluviimisel. Missioonil osalemisega panustab Eesti solidaarselt teiste liikmesriikidega Euroopa Liidu sõjalisse operatsiooni. Lisaks on Eestile oluline arendada koostööd strateegiliste Euroopa Liidu lõunatiiva liitlastega. Missiooni juhtriik on Portugal. Alates 16.12.2021 panustab Eesti ühe õigusnõunikuga, kelle ülesanneteks on EUTM Mozambique'i ülema nõustamine õigusküsimustes ning kohalike relvajõudude liikmete väljaõpetamine inimõiguste küsimustes.
