Summary
Eelnõuga tehakse valitsusele ettepanek seada strateegiline eesmärk viia avamere vesiviljeluse maht järgneva viie aasta jooksul vähemalt 10 000 tonni juurdekasvuni lähtudes põhimõttest, et asustusmaterjal kasvatatakse ette maismaa kalakasvatustes. Nimetatud eesmärgi elluviimiseks tuleb soodustada ja toetada tänapäevaste ja innovaatiliste tehnoloogiate kasutamist vesiviljeluses, seejuures lähtudes põhimõttest, et arendused ei halvendaks mereala seisundit ega seoks ohtu hea seisundi saavutamist. Eelnõu on esitatud tulenevalt vajadusest teha valdkonna arendamiseks põhimõtteline otsus soodustada riiklikul tasandil keskkonnasäästlikku vesiviljelust ja isevarustatuse tagamist kodumaise kasvatatud kalaga ning saada riiklikul tasandil selgus vesiviljeluse valdkonna arenguvõimaluste osas.
