Summary

Eelnõu näeb ette lõpetada rahvastikukriisi lahendamise probleemkomisjoni tegevus ja tegeleda vastavate sisuteemadega edasi nii Riigikogus, eeskätt sotsiaalkomisjonis ning sotsiaalministeeriumis, kui ka sise-, kultuuri ja välisministeeriumis. Seletuskirjas märgitakse, et Riigikogu rahvastikukriisi lahendamise probleemkomisjon dubleerib Riigikogu sotsiaal- ja kultuurikomisjoni ning sotsiaal-, sise-, haridus- ja välisministeeriumide tööd. Seetõttu pole probleemkomisjoni olemasolu vajalik, mõistlik ega ka majanduslikult otstarbekas, kuna komisjoni töö nõuab lisaks märkimisväärseid lisakulutusi riigieelarvest. Olukorras, kus riigi eesmärgiks on avaliku sektori kulutuste kärpimine, on Riigikogu poolt kokkuhoiukohtade leidmine vajalik eeskuju. 2021. aasta jaanuaris kaotati ka rahvastikuministri koht ja ametnikud viidi üle ministeeriumidesse, kus vastavate poliitikatega varasemalt tegeleti.
