Summary
Eelnõu näeb ette kasutada vajadus korrall Kaitseväe kuni 50 kaitseväelast NATO või selle liikmesriigi, ELi või ÜRO juhitaval ÜRO põhikirja VI või VII peatükis sätestatu alusel rahu ja julgeoleku säilitamise või taastamise eesmärgil korraldataval sõjalisel operatsioonil või rahvusvahelise õiguse üldtunnustatud põhimõtete ja normidega kooskõlas oleval muul rahvusvahelisel sõjalisel operatsioonil esmakordsel panustamisel. Sellise mandaadi andmine tuleneb vajadusest võimalikult paindlikult reageerida kiiresti eskaleeruda võivale olukorrale, näiteks kui Eesti julgeolekupoliitiline huvi nõuab Kaitseväe üksuste kiiret lähetamist operatsioonile, mis ei mahu muude riigikaitseseaduses sätestatud kiiret reageerimist võimaldavate erandite alla (nt NATO reageerimisjõudude koosseisus osalemine). 2018. aastal panustas Eesti samuti kuni 50 kaitseväelasega.
