Summary
Eelnõuga tehakse valitsusele ettepaneku töötada välja laste heaolu ja vaimse tervise kaitseks konkreetsed abinõud, mis ennetavad ning vähendavad sotsiaalmeedia kasutamisest tulenevaid probleeme. Eelnõu kohaselt peab valitsus tagama, et Tarbijakaitse ja Tehnilise Järelevalve Amet teostaks järelevalvet sotsiaalmeedia platvormide üle nagu digiteenuste määrus ette näeb, aga mida suures osas Eesti praegu ei täida. Seletuskirja kohaselt näitavad uuringud, et liigne ekraaniaeg, sobimatu sisu, sõltuvusmehhanismid ning privaatsusohud mõjutavad laste vaimset tervist, keskendumisvõimet ja üldist heaolu. Eestis puuduvad senini tõhusad meetmed. mis aitaksid ennetada sotsiaalmeedia kasutamisest tingitud tervise probleeme lastele.
