Summary
The expectations of the chambers of agriculture concerning the ceiling of the additional tax to the tax on undeveloped land were taken into account and supported within the framework of the examination of the finance bill (PLF) for 2024, as was the case within the PLF for 2023, which provided for an increase of an additional 8.8 million euros (M€). This year, a new request for an increase in the means of the chambers of agriculture was scope. Thus, following the adoption of parliamentary amendments, supported by the Government, the initial finance law for 2024 provides for an increase of €22 million (i.e. 7.1%) compared to 2023. Furthermore, in order to allow better distribution of the tax proceeds between the chambers of agriculture, the ceiling for the annual change in the tax resources of the local chambers, set until 2023 at a 3% annual increase, has been raised to 15%. In this context, the Government remains fully committed to the financial sustainability of the chambers of agriculture, which guarantee the support of agricultural sectors and their development as close as possible to the field.
