Mr. Luc Lamirault questions the Minister of the Economy, Finance and Industrial and Digital Sovereignty on the marketing, on French territory, of hydraulic jacks coming mainly from China and wrongly claiming CE marking. Indeed, alerted by the company Truck Tech SAS, located in his constituency, which markets manually operated hydraulic jacks under the RASSANT brand, Mr. MP wishes insist on the importance of respecting European safety standards. Indeed, to comply with the standards of the “machinery” directive no. 2006/42/EC, this equipment must be equipped with “dead man” safety. However, jacks from China do not have them. The General Directorate of Labor (DGT) affirmed to the company Truck Tech SAS that “the absence of a device aimed at stopping the movement of the machine when the operator lets go control such as the “dead man” function for manually operated hydraulic trolley jacks is a non-compliance with EESS 3.3.1 of the machinery directive 2006/42/EC”. These illegally CE marked hydraulic jacks should therefore be banned from sale. Following this opinion, the Directorate General for Competition, Consumer Affairs and Fraud Control (DGCCCRF) aligned itself with the DGT's decision and requested the joint laboratory service in order to study the taking into account of this interpretation for the next jack checks. He therefore wishes to know what the Government plans to put in place in order to better control products coming from China and in particular to ensure compliance with European safety standards before being put into circulation on European markets.
