Summary

Mr. André Chassaigne questions the Secretary of State, attached to the Prime Minister, responsible for people with disabilities, on the need to strengthen solidarity and inclusion, at every stage of life, of people faced with disabilities. To shake up awareness and intensify public policies aimed at people with disabilities, Unapei published “Are you with us? », book of testimony and proposals. This work is aimed at everyone, from the simple citizen to the holder of a mandate or responsibility within society. It particularly concerns national and local elected officials, community stakeholders, education, health, research, business and media professionals. Some of the proposals developed are in fact easy to implement by the various actors in the cause of people in situations of disability. However, it is up to state services to create a new dynamic through proactive and ambitious decisions to improve their situation. Among the 41 proposals from Unapei, it should be noted the improvement of reception and communication with public services, the revaluation of allowances, the extension of the rights of people under guardianship, the strengthening of transport accessibility, the fight against prejudices, access to internships and jobs in companies or communities, the organization of necessary educational projects in schools, the strengthening of research on behavioral disorders, the adaptation of medical consultations, easier access to media platforms. These general and transversal measures must be carried out over time. They could, however, be part of a real “plan emergency” which it seems essential to initiate. He asks her what measures she intends to take to echo this approach of Unapei so that the situation of people with disabilities is better recognized and improved.
