Summary
The Government is fully committed to the French model of civil security based, among other things, on the complementarity of professional, military or volunteer firefighter statuses and which has, once again, demonstrated its resilience and solidity this summer in particular. This commitment of volunteer firefighters calls for demonstrations of recognition, commensurate with the significant efforts, even sacrifices, made by these last in their professional and private lives, and likely to retain them in their commitment. The allocation of additional quarters of increased insurance duration to volunteer firefighters constitutes an important step forward and the implementation of a Government commitment. In accordance with the wishes of the legislator, the first threshold for granting an increase in the duration of insurance will be ten years of commitment. Thus to from July 1, 2026, the system will allow those who have served at least ten years as a volunteer firefighter to benefit from a quarter of increase, then an additional quarter from twenty years and finally a final quarter for twenty-five years of commitment.
