Summary

Ms. Annie Vidal draws the attention of the Minister of Health, Families, Autonomy and People with Disabilities to the issues related to long covid. Several recent scientific studies confirm the existence of persistent cognitive disorders following infection with covid-19, to which other lasting symptoms may be added such as fatigue, pain or even digestive disorders. According to the estimates of Public Health France, several million French people could be affected by these prolonged demonstrations. Continuing research and patient support efforts therefore appear essential in order to better understand these prolonged forms of the disease, improve their diagnosis and adapt the care of those affected. Furthermore, Law No. 2022-53 of January 24, 2022 provided for the creation of a platform national referral and support for patients with long-term covid, as well as provisions aimed at improving their care, particularly with regard to long-term conditions. In this regard, Decision No. 498369 of October 3, 2024 of the Council of State recalls the importance of enacting the regulatory measures necessary for the application of the laws adopted by Parliament, in order to ensure their full effectiveness. In In this context, it would like to know the progress of the work relating to the publication of the implementing decree provided for by this law, the prospects for strengthening support for research into the long-term after-effects of covid-19 and the actions which could be envisaged to continue informing the public and supporting the people concerned.
