Summary
Ms. Corinne Vignon draws the attention of the Minister of Higher Education, Research and Innovation to the need to strengthen interdisciplinary and local research on issues of radicalization. Often approached from a security perspective, research into crime and terrorism neglects the deep and diverse causes of the phenomenon of radicalization (social, familial, psychological, addictive, sexual, religious). Faced with the growing terrorist threat, the response of public authorities must be adapted and informed by a global understanding of the problem. Furthermore, the local application of this research is still weak. However, it would make it possible to address with more precision the regional specificities leading to radicalization and to analyze the concrete presence in the territories of these phenomena. Local platforms are beginning to emerge (University of the Capitol in Toulouse for example) but are struggling to become institutionalized. She would like to know what measures the Government intends to implement to encourage these initiatives.
