Summary

Ms. Josiane Corneloup questions the Minister of the Armed Forces about the allocation of the benefit of the double campaign to veterans, civil servants and similar “from North Africa”. Law No. 74-1044 of December 9, 1974 gives the status of combatant to people who participated in operations carried out in North Africa between January 1, 1952 and July 2, 1962. Article 2 of this text specifies by adding article L. 253 bis to the code of military disability pensions and war victims that the combatant's card is only allocated to French auxiliary forces who took part in fire or combat actions during operations carried out between the two dates cited above. Now regarding the preceding conflicts: 14-18; 39-45; Indochina; OPEX; the time spent in the territory concerned is taken into account for the allocation of this map. Why make such a distinction which disadvantages veterans, civil servants and the like from North Africa? She asks her to pay attention to the situation of these people who took part in their country's war effort and to remedy this unequal treatment.
