Summary
Mr. Vincent Descoeur draws the attention of the Minister of Labor to the concerns that the proposed reform of unemployment insurance raises among childminders. Currently, childminders who look after several children can, upon termination of one of their contracts, benefit from an allowance which is added to the income from other retained jobs. In the framework document submitted in October 2018 to social partners for the negotiation of the unemployment insurance reform, the Government considers that “this situation deserves to be corrected, in order to further encourage people to favor earned income”. Hence the concern of childminders who fear they will no longer receive unemployment benefits when they lose the benefit of a contract, often for reasons beyond their control. This is why he asks the Government to clarify its intentions regarding this reform of unemployment insurance and its implications for the profession of childminders.
