Summary
Mr. Xavier Breton draws the attention of the Minister of Agriculture and Food to the State's decision to impose on forestry municipalities, against their advice and without prior expertise of the legal and economic consequences, a new procedure allowing the national forest office (ONF), from July 1, 2019, to collect in place of the municipalities the revenues from sales of wood from municipal forests, before repayment within a period of up to three months. This measure would affect the treasury of the municipalities and is contrary to their free administration. Thus, by implementing this measure, the Government has chosen to retain the ONF instead of the treasuries as revenue collector, the municipalities will thus contribute to compensating the overdrafts of the public industrial and commercial establishment. Also, he would like to know whether the State has properly measured the financial consequences for the municipalities and asks it to please communicate the amounts.
