The Government is fully aware of the role of physiotherapists in meeting health needs.  The latest negotiations between Health Insurance and the profession resulted in the signing of an amendment proposing major upgrades to the activity of masseurs-physiotherapists, allowing an increase in the basic act to 18 euros. Financial aid was also provided for home care provided by masseurs-physiotherapists: specific fixed travel allowances were thus extended and increased to €4. Thus, this amendment included 530 million euros in additional remuneration for 70,000 physiotherapists, the entry into force of which began in July 2023. The revaluation of the basic act and the financial support provided by Health Insurance were accompanied Furthermore, a strengthening of the place of the masseur-physiotherapist in public health provision, in terms of prevention and access to physiotherapy care, in a context of an aging population and an increase in patients suffering from chronic pathologies.
