Aware of the priority in terms of care for the elderly as well as the issues linked to the aging of the population, the Government is working, beyond the implementation of the law relating to the adaptation of society to aging, to adapt responses to the needs of the elderly, and to improve the quality of care in a prospective approach. To this end, the high council for the future of health insurance (HCAAM) and the High Council for Family, Childhood and Age (HCFEA) were commissioned to carry out a prospective assessment of the needs in quantitative and qualitative terms of medico-social and health care for the elderly by 2030. In order to respond to the issues surrounding professional practice in accommodation establishments for dependent elderly people (EHPAD), both in in terms of claims and turnover, a working group relating to the quality of life at work has been set up under the aegis of the general management of social cohesion. It will endeavor to mobilize the professional branches and will aim to consider all possibilities of acting on the issue of the arduousness of professions, for example through the prevention of musculoskeletal disorders or the stress linked to taking care of caring for very dependent elderly people. The work of the working group ultimately aims to provide concrete solutions to establishments to improve the situation of staff, in particular by addressing issues related to management in EHPADs. Finally, with the pricing reform, €397.9 million in additional funding will be allocated to EHPADs over the period 2017-2023. In the security financing law social security for 2018, 100 million euros have already been dedicated to improving the supervision rate, the quality of support and the working conditions of staff (185 million euros in 2017).
