Summary

The French authorities welcome the release of Mr. Salah Hammouri on September 30, 2018, after thirteen months of administrative detention. Throughout these thirteen months, the French authorities have continued to mobilize to ask the Israeli authorities that all of his rights be respected. France has interceded on several occasions with the Israeli Prime Minister to discuss the situation of our compatriot, allow him to be aware of the charges against him and to request that his administrative detention be put an end to. Mr. Salah Hammouri was also able to benefit, during the period of his detention, from the consular protection provided for by the Vienna Convention of April 24, 1963. As such, he was able to receive regular visits from the French consular authorities. It is now important that Mr. Salah Hammouri can resume a normal life in Jerusalem, where he resides. In this regard, the French authorities hope that his wife and son can obtain the right to go to Jerusalem to find him.
