Summary

Child and Family Services Improvement Act of 2006 - Amends part B (Child and Family Services) of title IV of the Social Security Act with respect to the safe and stable families program to: (1) limit reimbursement for administrative costs; (2) reauthorize the program; (3) increase the set-asides for Indian tribes, and (4) set forth special rules for funds reserved to support monthly caseworker visits. Authorizes appropriations to the Secretary of Health and Human Services for child welfare services. Modifies state plan as well as state allotment and reimbursement requirements under the child welfare services program. Reauthorizes the court improvement program and the program for mentoring children of prisoners. Makes additional appropriations to the Secretary for the safe and stable families program.
