Summary

Ms. Ramlati Ali draws the attention of the Minister of the Interior to the terms of transfer of police officers from overseas departments. The latter having been arrested by a national police union organization (SGP Police de Mayotte). In fact, for several years, around fifty police officers from Mayotte have expressed the wish to be able to return to their native island at the end of their compulsory period of presence in mainland France. She specifies that Mayotte is facing an upsurge in general delinquency and a significant increase in acts of violence, particularly committed against the police. She adds that quickly bringing back seasoned Mahorais police officers to Mayotte, who are perfectly familiar with the human and social specificities linked to the local context from which they come could make the fight against delinquency and illegal immigration more effective. It is based on article 25 of decree 95-654 of May 9, 1995 establishing the common provisions applicable to active civil servants of the national police services which provides that: "when the interests of the service require it, the active civil servant of the national police services may exceptionally be moved or changed job". She asks the Government to take up this article to both respond to the request of police officers of Mahorese origin wishing to return to their island and through this reinforcement, put an end to the numerous incidents of disturbances to public order and violence that Mayotte is experiencing and their worsening in recent months.
