Summary
Eelnõu algatajad peavad vajalikuks kanade puurispidamise lõpetamise seadustamist ja esitavad eelnõu, et protsess ei seiskuks ja jõuaksime ühemõtteliselt muutusteni, mis lõpetab puurikanade kannatused. Eelnõuga tehakse loomakaitseseaduses kaks sisulist muudatust. Esiteks muudetakse seaduses munatootmiseks peetavate kanade heaolu tagavaid nõudeid. Eelnõuga tehakse ettepanek keelustada alates 2035. aasta 1. jaanuarist toidumunade tootmise eesmärgil peetavate kanade, sealhulgas kanatibude ja noorkanade (edaspidi koos munakanad) pidamine puuris. Lisaks nähakse eelnõuga ette, et alates 2027. aasta 1. jaanuarist ei tohi loomapidaja munakanade pidamisega alustamise korral nende pidamiseks ehitada ega kasutusele võtta puuri. Seega tuleb toidumunade tootmisega tegeleval ettevõtjal alates 2027. aastast kasutusele võetav tootmissüsteem ehitada ja sisustada selliselt, et selles oleks võimalik pidada munakanu puurivabalt.
