Après l’article LO 142 du code électoral, est inséré un article LO 142‑1 ainsi rédigé : « Art. LO 142‑1. – Le mandat de député et de sénateur est incompatible avec l’appartenance à un des statuts de la fonction publique. « Le député ou le sénateur qui, lors de son élection, se trouve dans une telle situation d’incompatibilité, doit, dans l’année suivant l’élection, choisir entre son mandat législatif et son appartenance à la fonction publique. « À défaut d’option dans le délai imparti, le député ou le sénateur est réputé démissionnaire d’office. »
