Summary

Riigikogu avaldus on ajendatud Venemaa Föderatsiooni võimude provokatiivsetest sõnavõttudest seoses Teise maailmasõja puhkemisega, ajalooliste faktide võltsimisest oma suurriikliku ideoloogia huvides ja selleks korraldatud agressiivsetest meediakampaaniatest. Molotovi-Ribbentropi pakti ja selle salaprotokollide õigustamisega loob Venemaa Föderatsioon endale pinnast agressiivse välispoliitika jätkamiseks naaberriikide ja kogu läänemaailma suunas. Riigikogu avalduses taunitakse Venemaa Föderatsiooni võimude katseid ümber kirjutada ajalugu ning õigustada Teise maailmasõja eel kommunistliku Nõukogude Liidu ja natsionaalsotsialistliku Saksamaa vahel sõlmitud mittekallaletungilepingut ja selle salaprotokolle. Seejuures püütakse lääneriike näidata peamiste süüdlastena sõja puhkemises, eelkõige Molotovi-Ribbentropi pakti salaprotokolliga kahe agressori vahel jaotatud Poolat. Riigikogu avaldus kutsub Vabariigi Valitsust üles toetama autentse ajaloomälu säilitamist ja rõhutab vajadust lülitada Eesti koolide õppeprogrammidesse totalitaarsete režiimide kuritegusid ja demokraatiat ähvardanud ohte käsitlevad teemad. Avalduses meenutatakse 14. veebruaril 2012. aastal heaks kiidetud Riigikogu avaldust, milles mõisteti hukka Nõukogude Liidu ja natsionaalsotsialistliku Saksamaa repressiivse poliitika ning isikud, kes nimetatud režiimide teenistuses on toime pannud inimsusvastaseid kuritegusid, sõltumata nende kodakondsusest ja kuritegude toimepaneku kohast.
