Le 1° du I de l’article L. 211‑1 du code de l’environnement est complété par une phrase ainsi rédigée : « Les zones humides forment des milieux diversifiés qui sont caractérisés soit par un sol hydromorphe, soit par une végétation hygrophile,  tels que notamment, les marais, les mares, les mangroves, les tourbières, les forêts alluviales, les ripisylves, les prairies humides, les grands territoires d’étangs. »
